"Pictures of a small case- Dr. A patient"
Tue Feb-07-06 10:57 AM by Dr. San

Sometimes, we get patients who want to go for smaller initial sessions to evaluate whether hair transplant is the way for them.
That is a perfectly reasonable approach.

Care must be taken that,as far as possible, these smaller sessions should be
1. able to act as a standalone sessions,
2. as densely transplanted as to avoid need for future repeated transplants in the same area.

Following are pictures of such a patient.
Creation of a forelock, though not most patient's first choice, is, in my view, a very safe approach.

Many people retain a forelock even in advanced stages of hairloss. So, the patient retains the freedom of not having to go for repeated hair transplants having got on the HT treadmill.

----------------------------------------------
We also advise patients to go for a small session of BHT along with their procedure.
Just 10 to 30 grafts even will suffice.
The reason-
The person can see for himself how his body hair are going to grow on the scalp as well as view the donor areas and get a brief glimpse of the full procedure.

As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.
Similarly, this small session of the BHT proves to the patient a very important part of his research.
---------------------------------------------
The pictures shown here are before and 5.5 months after.

BEFORE

5.5 months later hair combed forward

5.5 months laterhair combed to the side.

The grafts outlined in blue are chest hair grafts. The results are there for evaluation.
We found no difference in the growth, yeild etc., of the body hair grafts compared to the scalp hair grafts.

Pictures of graft placement.

This is the picture of the chest donor area.
There are many misinformation doing the rounds regarding BHT. I think these small case studies have a very important role to play, apart from the large megasessions.

It is posts like this that reinforce my belief that BHT is a viable and somtimes only alternative for HT, if done in the proper way. The only protocol that has got consistent results w/ BHT is Dr.A's protocol for BHT. More Dr's should follow and want to learn this protocol. Instead of the 5 years that a prominent Dr has advocated to wait for growth, we see that the reality is 5 months.

How many grafts in total did you place, Dr A ?
Surely what we see can't be just the outcome of the small 20 to 30 BHT.

Dear Hairytale,
The body hair grafts are only those that were placed in the blue encircled area. They were placed in a demarcable area so that the patient could observe their growth for himself. Yes, only 20 body hair grafts were transplanted.

Other than that 800 grafts were used to construct the forelock.

Dr. A

I remember when I went in for my first 50 chest hair graft session coupled with scalp FUSE grafts.
The growth in the body hair convinced me that no amount of research or opinions could have.

9000 grafts till now. All by Dr. A .
They include strip FUHT, FUE, body hair grafts and facial hair grafts.
Hoping to accomplish full hair restoration.

Very interesting thread, the BHT seems to be growing in line with the scalp hair which again is encouraging.
