Dear Readers, While going through our clinic picture and video archive, I found that videos give a more accurate idea of the strip scar than pictures alone.
I have attached a picture of the strip scar of a patient who had a 2500 strip FUHT procedure at our clinic more than 18 months back. At the time of the procedure, the scalp laxity was noted to be very low.
The closure of the strip area was performed in two layers using self dissolving monocryl sutures.
We are emailing the video of the strip scar to Hairsite, so that it can be posted alongside the picture.
Please let me know your thoughts.

Following is the picture of the strip scar taken with the hair parted precisely on both sides of the scar, instead of combing over a row of hair from below the scar. I know that this tends to make the scar appear wider than it is, but I find this to be a more honest way of showing what the strip FUHT scar looks like. The scale to the left of the picture is in millimeters. Now that you have seen the picture, please compare it to the video and let me know your input.
P.S. - No ledge closure or trichophytic closure was performed in this case.

Any reason why a tric closure was not used? Is he planning on having some grafts implanted into the scar?

No, the patient is not planning to have any grafts implanted into the FUHT scar as he feels its too thin and a non issue. However, he does plan to go for another FUHT session for more translants sometime in the next 6 months. That time trichophytic closure will be used. Meanwhile, he has been advised to perform scalp "pinching" exercises. That will help increase the scalp laxity without any negative influence on the previous thin scar.
